Update on the blog.

Hi there faithful blog readers. We are looking for some new articles for this blog from our readers. Any posts on malls, big box stores, or shopping centers will be accepted. If you would like to post an article please submit your information on this post and I will e-mail you with further instructions. Full credit for your article will be given and all information is greatly appreciated. You can also e-mail us at southernmalls@gmail.com.

In the meantime, I am working on a few new articles for the blog but the ideas are running low. If there are any malls that my readers would like to see featured drop me a comment.

Rolling Oaks Mall San Antonio Texas

The Rolling Oaks Mall is located a few miles Northwest of the former Windsor Park Mall that closed in the mid 2000's. Rolling Oaks Mall opened in 1988 off of FM 1604 and Nacogdoches Rd. in North San Antonio. The mall is anchored by Sears, Macy's, Dillard's, and JCPenney.
The inside of the mall appears to have been recently updated and the mall was very clean on our visit.
The food court is on the right of this photo.
The corridor near Sears has the most vacancies. The rest of the mall is mostly full.
This appears to be one of the anticipated future anchor entrances that were built onto many 1980's and 1990's malls. Most malls are lucky to have 4 anchors, so many of these spaces were never filled.
An interesting feature in this mall is the tent style roofs throughout the mall.

Wonderland of the Americas Mall San Antonio Texas

Photos from October 2012
Here is a quick update to a previously featured mall. Wonderland of the Americas Mall has changed over the past three years and has gained several new offices on the first floor since my last visit nearly a year ago. The first floor is being redeveloped as offices and has the food court. The second floor is where the mall is focusing on the retail businesses and most of the stores from the first floor relocated upstairs.
The new Ross
All of the anchors have mall entrances on the second floor only. The Super Target does not have a mall entrance.
The fountain in the middle of the food court.
The first floor is becoming filled with doctor and dentist offices mostly near the Burlington side of the mall.
GNC and Radio Shack (not pictured) have remained on the first floor while the rest of the stores have moved upstairs.
The Ross has an entrance inside of the mall.
Here is an electric vehicle charging station; these are starting to pop up around Texas.

University Mall Summer 2012 Update

Happy new year for everyone here is the first new article for 2013. 2013 will be the last year of regular updates for this blog as I feel that my objective for this blog has been accomplished. I founded this blog to cover many retail outlets in Louisiana and Texas that were never covered elsewhere (example Inglewood Mall in Morgan City LA). I also wanted to provide updates, photos, and more information on retail that has been covered elsewhere (example Belle Promenade Mall in Marrero LA). I will still accept reader submitted posts with photos for the blog, and I appreciate any submissions.

Welcome to the late summer update on the University Mall in Nacogdoches TX. As you can see the mall has been freshened up and looks much nicer than on my last visit. A few new stores including the anchor Cititrends have opened at the mall.
