Here are a few more photos from the Belle Prominade Mall in Marrero Louisiana taken in 2001. These were taken by a low resolution pen camera which explains the small photo size. This mall is nearly forgotten and the property has been completely redeveloped. I plan on getting back to New Orleans later on in 2010, so there will be several new Louisiana articles here soon.
This was the center court of the mall.
This shot is where the Dillard's stood facing the south side of the mall.
Here is a shot of the length of the mall from the south near Lapalco Blvd.
Thank you for providing these pictures!! For the longest I have been trying to get pictures/videos or any layouts! Thank you for keeping the memory of this mall alive!
ReplyDeleteA few years ago when I lived in New Orleans; I came across some old Jefferson Parish yearly books at the library that had color advertisements of the mall when it opened. I did not have the blog back then, so I did not think to make copies.
ReplyDeleteHello Je, do you still have copies of the advertisements? I would love to see some pictures or a layout.
ReplyDelete@ anonymous I never made copies of the advertisements, but did make some copies of other old shopping centers. When I locate those I will post them. Those books also had advertisements and plans for a northern extension of Metairie. The extension would have been in between the Causeway and Bucktown by the 17th street canal. The park at the end of Bonnabel was the only part of the project that was ever built.
