Belle Promenade Mall Revisited January 2012

This is the last part of the actual mall floor that remains from the Belle Promenade Mall in Marrero LA. If you have been following this blog you know the story of this once great mall. This part of the site still has the tiles of the food court and parts of the mall corridor floor still intact. Parts of the foundation of the cinema and the stores surrounding the south portion of the food court are still intact as well. This section of the mall floor and parking lot has survived only because a plan to build condos on this part of the mall site did not come to fruition.

Circuit City Marrero LA

Just across Lapalco from the former Belle Promenade Mall is this 1980's style plug Circuit City store. The store was being worked on and had permits on the door indicating that the store is being re positioned for another use. This is one of two closed Circuit City locations on the Westbank of New Orleans.

There is a clear labelscar on the building.

Former Kmart Marrero LA

This K-Mart was shuttered in the last 1990's and appears to have been untouched since then. This K-Mart was one of the classics that were still in operation after the change to Big K-Mart. Just next door to this K-Mart was a Showbiz Pizza in the small strip center next door that is also closed.
