Dead K Mart in San Antonio Texas

Attention K Mart shoppers there is a blue light special, but not at this location. This was a Super K Mart that probably closed nearly 10 years ago when K Mart pulled out of San Antonio and Houston. This location is eerily similar to the Super K Mart that sat abandoned in Humble Texas that was redeveloped after sitting for 9 years in nearly the same condition as this location.

One hour photo will be delayed for a very long time.

The garden center grows once again; weeds.

On this most recent trip; I had more opportunities to take photos as the store was nearly empty. The store has been cleaned up greatly since Sears and K-Mart merged.

Take a good look at the photos in the electronics section; advertisements for cassette players and the 1990's computer in another photo. I think it may be time to update this store.

K-Mart in Lufkin Texas

Just across the street from the Lufkin Mall is one of the few remaining K-marts in the state of Texas. K-mart left most of Texas in 2002 when the company was in financial trouble.
