Acadiana Mall Lafayette La. Pre-renovation and after renovation quick update

Here are some images of the mall pre-construction from early 2013. The renovation should already be underway and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2013. For a more detailed article about this mall check out my original post at http://southernretail.blogspot.com/2011/11/mall-of-acadiana-lafayette-louisiana.html

As a bonus, check out this retro sign at one of the Sears entrances.
Here is what it looks like now as of May 2014

  1. Since you were last here, renovations have been completed. Unfortunately, the biggest change is the fact that they tore out the water fountain/wishing well/seating area at center court. That's now a big open area where the mall can put more annoying kiosks, and earn more revenue! It's sad, but not unexpected. I remember begging my mom to let me throw pennies in that fountain back in the 80's.

    1. Yeah, I went there about 6 months ago and saw the finished product. The mall is so bland and boring compared to how it looked before. At least you still have Northgate with the old school design still operating. I am glad to see the FYE is still there for now, but the cool sports store with all of the NFL gear is gone.
